Welcome to Wolds Nurseries & Pre-schools

Wolds Childcare – where we make learning child’s play!

We have limited availability at The Wolds Day Nursery and Willow Brook Preschool. We also have limited availability for  Rushcliffe Montessori, Little Lambs at Lambley and Calverton Day Nursery.

We understand how difficult it is to leave your child in someone else’s care.  Everyone at Wolds Childcare is extremely proud of the high-quality service we offer and as such we are confident that you will be delighted with the daycare your child receives.

The proprietor of Wolds Childcare Ltd is Karen Richards. Karen has over 25 years of teaching experience, working specifically with Early Years since 2005. Karen is passionate about Wolds Childcare and the service she provides, ensuring that every child is supported to ensure they are happy and self-assured, receiving a strong foundation before leaving nursery for pastures new.

We have settings at Normanton-on-the-Wolds, Rushcliffe Montesorri Stragglethorpe, Calverton, Lambley and Willow Brook Primary School, Keyworth. Wraparound care is also provided at a school in West Bridgford. Although all settings operate to the same uncompromisingly high standards, each one has its own unique atmosphere.

Ofsted
We are registered and approved with Ofsted to provide care and education for children aged between 6 weeks and 8 years. The standard of education being delivered at all levels of a child’s development is regulated by Ofsted through regular inspections.

Our Aim
Our aim is to provide a secure and homely environment for your child whilst maintaining a relaxed and happy family atmosphere where children feel comfortable and safe. We want to develop our children’s self-esteem and healthy living awareness to enable them to reach their full potential and be independent individuals.

Education
Each day is planned to ensure that there are a variety of activities that are exciting, informative and fun! Our nurseries follow Government guidelines on the Early Years Foundation Stage. Activities are planned to be appropriate for each child’s age, abilities and learning needs, remaining flexible enough to accommodate spontaneous interest.

Operating a no screens policy ensures all children are using the resources around them to interact, create, develop and build social skills.

The nursery is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance, National Day Nursery Association and receives support from Nottinghamshire local authority.

Contact us today for an organised, safe visit at any one of our provisions.

I had the opportunity to visit the Wolds as part of a study programme. I’ve been to lots of settings as part of my training and this one blew me away so much I promised I’d do a review! I can honestly say they are some of the most professional and caring staff I’ve ever seen. They really do put the children at the heart of everything they do. The children are so enthused about the forest school programme & it’s so refreshing to see children in such a wonderful outdoor learning space, doing what children do best - exploring & having fun in the process. I can see why they are so popular with parents & early years professionals alike. Thanks team Wolds - it’s been an honour to learn from you!

Our son has been so happy at The Wolds since he joined around 9 months old. He's now 2 years old and gets so much from being there 3 days a week. The staff are friendly and helpful, and go out of their way to make us all feel comfortable. Thank you Wolds!

I cannot praise Wolds Nursery enough! Since day one of our daughter starting at the nursery we have always felt relaxed and happy with leaving her with such lovely staff. The staff put the children first with healthy home cooked meals and snacks, outstanding development and of course having lots fun from messy play, baking to dancing. The outdoor space is perfect with fields and homemade obstacles, they take the children out to see local farm animals and to explore the wildlife, I have always been blown away by what our daughter as achieved at a youngayoung and this is all thanks to the amazing staff, I visited many nursery before this one and straight away I could tell this is a special place, no broken or dirty toys and such a bright happy environment, if you are looking at nurse you need to visit The Wolds Day Nursery you will not be disappointed!
