Illness & Medication

The staff of Wolds Childcare strive to achieve and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and welfare for children, staff and third parties.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate unwell children within the Nursery.  Any child who becomes unwell through the day is carefully monitored.  Parents/carers are contacted to arrange collection.  In an extreme emergency we may feel it necessary to move the child to a hospital.

If a child has sickness or diarrhoea, they must be kept away from Nursery for at least 48 hours after the last bout of illness.  Any infectious illness should be reported to the Nursery to enable us to warn other parents to be vigilant for any specific symptoms.

Adherence to these procedures will help us to keep infection to a minimum.

We are unable to administer any un-prescribed medication to your child.  The medication must have the original label detailing your child’s name, be in date and have the correct dosage instructions.  We must obtain written consent to administer all medicines from each parent. There is a clear policy relating to this.

Ofsted regulations prevent us from administering any medications that are not prescribed by a doctor.

Please contact us if you have any further enquiries relating to illness and medication.
