Information for Parents
**To avoid disappointment, please note that we are now taking baby place bookings pre-birth. Please call for availability.**
Registering your child
Please contact the relevant setting to check availability and to book to have a look around.
Before you register, please read the information below to find out more about the admissions process. You may also like to read the testimonials posted on the About Us pages to find out what other parents have to say about Wolds Childcare.
Visits, home visits and free trials
We understand how important it is for you to find the right nursery for your child, so you’re welcome to come and have a look round and meet our team before registering.
You can bring your child for a free two hour trial session at our nursery on confirmation of availability. We advise that you leave your little one with us during these sessions - we’ll make sure their Key Person spends plenty of time with them and rest assured we will contact you should they struggle to settle.
Please contact us to arrange a visit to the nursery or free trial.
Your welcome pack
After you’ve registered your child with us, you will receive your Welcome Pack. This includes:
Information on our policies and procedures*
Details of what you’ll need to provide when your child attends nursery.
We’ll also give you a booklet entitled ‘All about me’. Please fill this in with as much information as possible about your child's needs, routines and preferences. This will assist us in the important settling-in procedure over their first early days. If you’d like any guidance in completing the booklet, please let us know and your child’s Key Person will be happy to help.
* The Wolds Day Nursery undertakes to comply with all statutory Health and Safety and Environmental Health requirements and all staff receive a full induction when they join us. If you’d like a copy of our Health and Safety policy or any of our other policies, please contact us.
We share your child's progress (Learning Journeys) and 'special moments' with you through an electronic system called Baby Days. It is a secure system using passwords chosen and used by yourself. Developmental observations and pictures of your child are added to their personal file, you then receive an email with notification. The iPads that are used to record this information are locked away after each day and are checked regularly by the management team.
